After years of rumours, the wishes of Wishaw locals seems set to come true and fast-food chain Burger King has confirmed they are to open a restaurant there.
Rumours about a potential opening of the restaurant have circulated online.
Now the fast-food giants have confirmed with the Wishaw Press that the town is to finally get its fix.
A spokeswoman for Burger King UK said: "We are regularly evaluating opportunities to bring our great-tasting products to more customers in new locations.
"And we can confirm there will be a new restaurant opening in Wishaw later this year.
"We will keep you informed when more information becomes available."
It is expected that they will take over the spot of the recently demolished Wishaw Wash on Glasgow Road, Craigneuk.
