Republican John Faso and Democrat Zephyr Teachout are in a dead heat in New York's 19th Congressional District, a Time Warner/Siena College poll released Tuesday shows.
The poll, which surveyed 678 voters in the district, showed 43 percent said they would support Faso and 42 percent said they would support Teachout.
The seat opened up when Rep. Chris Gibson said he would not seek re-election.
Teachout recently had Sen. Bernie Sanders campaign for her. He endorsed her in April ahead of her congressional primary.
The poll also showed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump beating Hillary Clinton by 5 points in the district. President Barack Obama won the district with 52 percent of the vote in 2012.
The poll was conducted from Sept. 20 through Sept. 22 and had a margin of error of 3.8 percent.
The Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call rates the race as Leans Republican.
