New Rangers hero Fashion Sakala has thanked the fans for their support as he notched his first goal in light blue against none other than Real Madrid.
And though he was awed by the part-capacity Ibrox, his team-mates have told him one thing: wait until you see them bounce.
The Zambian striker, who joined on a pre-contract from KV Oostende, was given his first start by Steven Gerrard in Sunday's friendly against the La Liga giants and 13-time Champions League winners.
He made an impression from the start but it was in the 55th minute that he slipped through a gaping Real defence and blasted past the impressive Andriy Lunin in goal before Cedric Itten would clinch a 2-1 win.
Speaking to Rangers TV, Sakala said: "I was very much excited and I'm very happy to play in the presence of fans.
"I was surprised by the noise but my team-mates were telling me that I have to wait until the stadium is full, that I haven't seen how they bounce – so I'm waiting for that!
"It means a lot, this is something I was looking for, I really wanted to score in the presence of the fans.
"I'm very happy and proud with the team, and my team-mates are making things a little bit easier for me."
The frontman had a long 10-day slog in hotel self-isolation as he itched to make his debut.
And he revealed he was slightly apprehensive about emerging from his personal bubble to meet his new pals – but online messages from the squad put him at ease.
"It has been very hard," Sakala added. "I was in quarantine for 10 days and to come out of that was a little bit stressful.
"But I got the full support from the club, the messages from the players when I was in quarantine helped me because I was worried who I should be talking to when I come out of quarantine.
"But the messages helped me settle in very fast."
