Fashion Sakala ready for Rangers as Zambian international gets help ahead of fulfilling 'childhood dream'

Fashion Sakala has been given every chance to make a good first impression at Rangers after being excused from international duty.

The Zambian striker has agreed a summer switch to Ibrox from Belgian out Oostende and will put pen to paper on a four-year deal when his contract there expires.

Sakala rejected approaches from English Premier League sides in order to sign for Steven Gerrard.

And he’ll be given every chance to be in top condition when he joins up with the Premiership champions.

He was due to join up with the national team for their upcoming friendlies against Senegal, Benin and Sudan.

But Serbian coach Milutin Sredojevic has left Sakala out to give him sufficient time to rest before his big move.

"Fashion is about to realise his childhood dream of playing at a top football club.

"He is going to Rangers in Scotland and is due to undergo medicals before he starts his training as he completes his switch from Oostende.

"The last thing I want to do is endanger his career through picking up an injury and it would be unfair to the country to summon him for national team assignments.

"We know that we need him in future, we know that he is very important, and we know that he is undoubtedly patriotic."
