Fashion Sakala in emotional Oostende farewell ahead of Rangers switch

New Rangers striker Fashion Sakala has issued one last farewell to his current employers KV Oostende ahead of his final match in the Belgian top-flight.

The 24-year-old is preparing to join Steven Gerrard and the Ibrox club this summer on a free transfer, after agreeing a four-year deal to sign for the newly-crowned Scottish champions.

But Sakala will be sorely missed by fans and followers of Oostende after bagging an impressive 16 goals this season and helping the provincial club launch a challenge for a European spot.

He'll turn out for Oostende one last time this evening away to Standard Liege, and earlier today he posted a clip to his Instagram story of when he first signed for the club in 2018 from Spartak Moscow.

The video came accompanied with the caption: “I asked for the support from KVO fans when I came 3 years ago and they supported me in bad and good moments. Thanks KVO fans, I appreciate.”

Sakala will be joined at Rangers by Nnamdi Ofoborh, who also agreed a pre-contract move from Bournemouth, with Gerrard and the Gers hierarchy set to continue their additions to the squad as the eye a place in the Champions League group stages next season.
