Fashion Sakala can't wait for Rangers bouncy after first goal and insists 'big things' are coming

Fashion Sakala can’t wait to see the Rangers fans doing “the bouncy” after netting his first goal for the club against Real Madrid.

Steven Gerrard ’s team came from behind to beat the Spanish giants 2-1 in their final friendly before they begin the defence if their Scottish Premiership title next week.

Sakala admitted the noise caused by the crowd in last night’s Brighton game took him by surprise, but his teammates assured the Zambian he aint seen nothing yet.

“I was very excited and I was very happy to play in the presence of the fans,” he told Rangers TV. “Yesterday I was surprised by the noise and still my teammates were telling me that I have to wait until the stadium is full and that I haven’t seen how they bounce, so I’m waiting for that!”

Sakala cancelled out Rodrygo’s first half opener before Cedric Itten bagged the winner after Nacho had been sent off for the visitors.

And the forward promised that more is to come as he gets up to speed.

“It means a lot and it’s something I was looking for,” he said. “I really wanted to score in the presence of the fans. I’m very happy and proud of the team and my teammates are making everything a little bit easier for me.

“There are a lot of things that I need to work on and big things are coming.”

Sakala has only trained for a week after completing his mandatory ten days in quarantine after arriving in Scotland, and he revealed how his new teammates reached out even before he’d arrived at the club.

He added: “It’s been very hard. I was in quarantine for ten days and to come out of that was a little bit stressful.

“But I got full support from the club and the messages from the players while I was in quarantine really helped me because I was worried who I should be talking to.

“But I got messages from them which really helped me to settle in very fast.”
