Fashion Sakala breaks Rangers transfer silence as striker target issues new club criteria

Rangers target Fashion Sakala says he'll only leave Oostende if he knows he'll get first team football.

As revealed by Record Sport the Ibrox club are keen to sign the Zambian international on a pre-contract deal.

The 23-year-old is attracting interest from a number of other clubs, including Anderlecht, and he has also been linked with Newcastle and West Ham United in recent months.

And Sakala has made clear he has no interest in moving to Rangers or anywhere else only to warm the bench.

He explained: "Yes, there is interest from other teams. At the same time, talks are ongoing with KV Oostende about a new contract and we will see where we end up.

"I play in one of the best leagues in the world. If I were to leave, both the club and I would benefit from it. But I am still very happy here.

"For me, signing a new contract would be no problem at all. I feel good here and have played almost every week in recent seasons.

"If I decided to go to a new club, it would need to be somewhere I got to play every week and was content. But honestly, I am in no hurry to leave because I am happy here.

"Of course, if I could choose which league I would want to play in I would pick La Liga or the English Premier League.

"But I don't want to be too busy thinking about the future, because then you lose sight of the present. My focus is on Oostende and I want to help the team.

"If you are not focused, you risk playing badly and losing points."
