Fashion giant Boohoo gives access to its supply chain and invites customers to meet its garment makers

Fashion giant Boohoo is giving customers the chance to learn more about its supply chain by hosting an 'all access' day in Leicester.

The listed company recently published a list of its UK suppliers in an effort to be more 'transparent.'

It came after an independent review found major failings in its supply chain in England following claims workers were being exploited.

Now the company - whose brands include Boohoo, BoohooMAN, PrettyLittleThing and Nasty Gal - is opening the doors to its consolidated supply chain in Leicester.

It is giving customers the chance to meet the real people behind their garment production - including fabric weavers and printers, pattern cutters and machinists.

Boohoo CEO John Lyttle said: "We are committed to transparency and this initiative is another demonstration of this.

"We are proud of the work we have done in the UK and we want the opportunity to showcase it.

"Customers can be confident in our operations and the way in which we are working with suppliers to drive positive change, as we help rebuild a vibrant manufacturing base in Leicester that offers good employment and great prospects for the city and its workers.

"I'd like to personally extend the invitation to our customers to be a part of this opportunity to come meet our makers first hand."
