Fashion faux pas: Melania Trump's skin-coloured trousers cause widespread confusion

Melania Trump is no stranger to making a fashion statement, but her latest head-turning ensemble may have been unintentional.

On Boxing Day, the First Lady joined President Trump in Iraq to meet US troops for the couple's first visit to a war zone during their two years in office.

Returning to the White House from the excursion, FLOTUS stepped off Air Force One in an outfit which raised a few eyebrows. Her emerald Prada jacket and unnecessarily large sunglasses were outshone by a pair of leather trousers.

The nude trousers were the exact colour of Melania's skin tone, causing many to do a double take and, of course, take to Twitter. One user wrote: "Can someone tell me why @FLOTUS got off of Marine One without pants and shoes and wearing sunglasses at night?"

On closer inspection, it's clear Melania is wearing skintight tan trousers by Ralph Lauren, with pumps in the same flesh-coloured shade by Louboutin.

The confusing trousers are another example of Melania's sometimes questionable wardrobe choices. From wearing Dolce & Gabbana for Thanksgiving to a "I Really Don't Care. Do U?" jacket to visit a detention centre in Texas and a colonial-style hat on a Kenyan safari, the First Lady knows how to make headlines.
