Bearing in mind the comforting words of Boris Johnson (“It is easy to make promises – it is hard work to keep them”), in no way does this short suit promise to be practical or easy to wear: it’s suede, for one, and comes in beige, so you can’t wear it on public transport. Plus, you’ll need to wear it a few times to make it worth the price tag. But it is an excellent entry point for smart/casual summerwear if you’re scared of wearing shorts to a meeting at work (a potential issue unless you work in the board-sport sector).
