Farmfoods delivery lorry breaks down on Troon street causing traffic chaos

This is the moment a supermarket lorry came to grief as it broke down on a busy Ayrshire street earlier today.

The Farmfoods vehicle ended up stuck on Temeplehill in Troon after making a delivery to the company's Portland Street store.

Traffic was disrupted for several hours in the seaside town as a recovery vehicle attended after the haulage truck broke down whilst heading up the hill on its way out to the main road.

Cops then arrived to assist with the recovery mission at lunchtime.

Pictures show the stricken haulage truck blocking traffic as police officers attended the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Troon attended Templehill to assist with the recovery of a broken down lorry around 12.50pm on Wednesday, August 25 the road was cleared a couple of hours later."

Ayrshire Live contacted Farmfoods but the supermarket firm did not wish to comment.
