Farmers in baa-d mood as annual show is cancelled

One of Ayrshire's oldest agricultural shows has had to abandon plans for this Saturday.

Organisers of the Craigie Show have just announced it has fallen victim to the weather.

The event is now held in the field opposite the Langholms restaurant near Symington.

But the team have just revealed today (Wed) the field is flooded, and too wet to take vehicles and livestock.

The event, run by the Craigie Farmer's Society, has been plagued by call-offs at previous venues over the years.

Despite huge amounts of work being done for this years show, organisers admitted: "It is with regret that I have to inform you that Craigie Show has been cancelled due to the condition of the Showground."

The forecast for Saturday is also rain, bizarre for August.
