Earlier this week, rumours began circulating that 2025 Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) contestant Claire Hampson had been secretly dating 2024 farmer Bert Harris. Now, both Claire and Bert have slammed the whispers.
The tea was brewed by cheeky gossip mag Woman’s Day, which claimed that Claire had originally applied to be a contestant vying for Bert’s heart during the last FWAW season. However, she ended up being put in the mix for Farmer Thomas. Although they were definitely vibing at first, Claire ended up leaving the show due to her doubts about the relationship and future with Thomas.
It’s a similar tale to Bert, who raised some eyebrows when he left the show last year after realising that he wasn’t in the right place to be in a relationship.
Speaking to Yahoo! Lifestyle, both Claire and Bert have dismissed claims that they’re secretly dating. However, he did admit that the wayward article did inspire some DMs between them.
“Just like most rumours getting around, there’s no truth to it,” he said.
“Up until that article, Claire and I had never spoken before. Her first DM to me was actually that. We had a good laugh, spoke a little about the show, and that was more or less it.”
Claire echoed Bert’s tale of events and confirmed that originally, she did apply to be one of Bert’s contestants in 2024.
“Prior to the article coming out, Farmer Bert and I had never spoken. However, I did send the article to him and we both had a good laugh about it,” she said.
It all adds up, folks!!!!
While the FIFO worker and the pineapple farmer might not be “secretly dating”, I’m kind of hoping that these little DMs turn into a little fling or romance between them. After all, we know she thinks he’s hot and she’s a beautiful gal.
