Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) 2024 winner Daisy Lamb claims this year’s Clarette — who’s vying for the heart of Farmer Thomas — is copping the “villain edit”.
While FWAW is considered to be one of the most wholesome (and most successful) match-making shows, this year’s season has been rife with behind-the-scenes drama.
Most recently, former FWAW contestant Daisy Lamb — who found love with Farmer Todd in 2024 — has agreed with fans who claim 2025’s Clarette has been handed the “villain edit”.
Per Yahoo! Lifestyle, fans of the annual rodeo of love have took to social media to debate whether or not the 35-year-old teacher has been handed the villain edit in this year’s run of FWAW.
“Is Clarette getting the villain cast? Or is she there for fame/followers? Do you think she’s genuine about finding a farmer? A possible bad edit, but she didn’t look to be too thrilled about the rodeo,” one fan wrote on Facebook, per the publication.
“I think they are just editing it… they did it last year when that farmer [Todd] came in halfway through and he was smitten with that girl [Daisy], but they made her out to be a bitch on screen and the family didn’t like her when that wasn’t the case,” another user claimed.
Under FWAW‘s official social media, viewers have also described the NSW-based contestant as “pushy” and “desperate”.
Reflecting on the show, Daisy shared that she reckons Clarette is being hit with the villain edit, urging viewers to “calm down” when judging the 2025 contestant.
“Villain edit 100 per cent. She is lovely, according to other ladies on that farm,” she told Yahoo! Lifestyle.
“Y’all need to calm down.”
This isn’t the first time the 2024 winner has slammed FWAW and its post-production edits. Back in 2024, Daisy said her edit on FWAW was “disgusting” and claimed that she received “death threats” when she appeared on the show.
“I think the way that production portrayed our story was disgusting. They chose to air highly edited scenes in which conversations never occurred and damaged the character of not only us but also our friends and family, as well as multiple girls during the series,” she told Yahoo! Lifestyle at the time.
“They portrayed us in such a way that brought us into public disrepute, so much that we received death threats.”
She also recently slammed the show’s sudden thirst for drama, describing the sudden pivot as “really sad”.
Shows similar to FWAW — like Married At First Sight (MAFS) — have dispelled any whispers of a “villain edit”. However, many people who have appeared on these kinds of shows have claimed that their peers, or themselves, have been on the receiving end of these post-production tricks.
But honestly, I think viewers just need to remember that it’s reality TV at the end of the day. We’re only getting a snippet of footage, and we’re not getting a 24-hour live feed of what’s going down on the farm.
And most importantly, these contestants are humans at the end of the day. Let’s just be kind, aye?
