A man in the US is accused of ramming a jogger with his truck, then raping and killing her.
Quake Lewellyn, 28, is accused of murdering Sydney Sutherland then burying her body alongside a rural highway in the state of Arkansas.
According to court documents filed by police, he then joined a search party launched for the missing 25-year-old nurse in the days following her August 19 disappearance, reports the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
Lewellyn is facing charges of capital murder, rape, kidnapping and abuse of a corpse.
Sutherland was reported missing after failing to return to the home she shared with her boyfriend Alex Nicholson.
A search party was assembled to look for her.
But two days later, Jackson County authorities said they had found her body buried in a deserted field alongside a rural highway near the city of Newport.
An Arkansas State Police investigator said in a probable cause affidavit that Lewellyn saw Sutherland jogging along the rural road, more than a mile from her home.
During his interview with police, he allegedly admitted to ramming the young woman with his pickup, loading her into the truck, then driving her to a remote location, the affidavit said.
Police allege Lewellyn then raped her and buried her at the same site.
The victim's phone was found 2.3 miles from where her body was discovered, police said in the affidavit.
The investigators said they had seized Lewellyn's phone and used it to pinpoint his location in relation to where her body was found.
They allege it shows he had been in the vicinity of where the victim's body was buried, the affidavit continued.
According to US reports, Sutherland and the suspect were known to each other but the nature of their relationship remains unclear.
Llewellyn is scheduled to be arraigned on October 29.
