Faridabad Municipal Corporation clerk arrested for taking Rs 4,000 bribe

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)on Monday claimed to have arrested a clerk of the Municipal Corporation Faridabad red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 4,000.

The accused took the bribe for ID change in property ownership.

A spokesperson of the Bureau said that the ACB has arrested Sanjeet Clerk, currently working with the House Tax Branch of the Municipal Corporation, Faridabad.

The complainant, a resident of Dabua colony, Faridabad, had approached the House Tax Branch of MCF to complete formalities related to the ID change in property ownership. Accused Clerk demanded a bribe in lieu of performing official duty.

The complainant who did not wish to give the bribe approached the Bureau. After verifying the facts, a team was constituted that laid a trap and caught Sanjeet red-handed accepting bribe of Rs 4,000.

The spokesperson further added that an investigation, in this case, is being done after the registration of a case against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
