Farhad Moshiri sends message over fans role in Everton manager sackings and Frank Lampard future

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has reiterated his faith in manager Frank Lampard while commenting on the prospect of a fan protest at Goodison Park on Saturday in an interview on talkSPORT.

The Blues majority shareholder, who responded last night to an open letter sent to him by the Everton Fans’ Forum, was asked by Jim White if Evertonians still had faith in his decisions and said: “Well I hope so, I put my money where my mouth is and that is the most that an owner can do and I’ve done that.

“Some of the decisions we’ve taken have been together with the fans right? All the managers that have left have been driven by the fans, not by me initially.

“I think you’ve got to stay with the manager to get the systems going, you know the players that he buys. You know I have a lot of faith in Frank, he’ll get it right.”

Various Everton supporter groups have planned protests this weekend when the side plays Southampton at Goodison Park.

Responding to that prospect, Moshiri said: “I think protest is a democratic right of everyone. I think the feeling is well-known, we’re communicating but I think the biggest thing is to support the team so we need to give it and they’ll give it back to us.”
