Farhad Moshiri in cash boost as he prepares to give £100m to Everton's new stadium

Farhad Moshiri has received a timely cash injection ahead of him pumping £100m into Everton's new stadium project.

The Blues' owner has committed to putting that money into the club's coffers to help towards the £500m cost of construction for the 52,888 new home at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Moshiri now owns over 90% of shares at Everton, and he has handed over around £450m since he bought into the club in 2016.

But he will plough another £100m into the Goodison accounts to help with the building of a new stadium and he could take up another 33,667 shares as part of the deal, to increase his stake further.

Earlier this month, the iron ore and steel giant Metalloinvest announced that shareholders had agreed to pay dividends to the total of 16bn Russian Rubles - the equivalent of around £150m.

That money will go to the shareholders of its holding company, USM - of which Moshiri is one.

Alisher Usmanov is the largest shareholder at USM - reportedly holding around 50% of shares - with Vladimir Stoch said to own 30% and Moshiri 10%.
