Nigel Farage has made a direct pitch to Labour voters, announcing policies designed to win over working class families.
The Reform leader used a major speech in London on Tuesday to accuse the Prime Minister of being “out-of-touch”.
He announced a raft of policies, including a promise for tax breaks for married couples, reinstating the winter fuel allowance for pensioners and saying his party would scrap the two child benefit cap if it won power.
Mr Farage also accused Sir Keir Starmer of “betrayal” over the Government’s deal with European Union and the handover of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius.
The speech, framed as Mr Farage’s “pitch to working people” saw the Reform leader flanked by council leaders and new Runcorn MP Sarah Pochin.
Mr Farage challenged Sir Keir to a debate in a working man’s club in the north of England to “see who connects better with working people”.
Labour defended Sir Keir, the son of a toolmaker, against the privately-educated “stockbroker and career politician”.
Mr Farage told a press conference in central London: "Reform is now in government in large swathes of England. What you see before you, whether you can yet believe it or not, is the second step of what is going to be the biggest political revolution this country has seen since the Labour Party overtook the Liberals over 100 years ago.
"And the big shout out message, and it's very, very clear, is if you vote Reform, you get Reform."
Mr Farage argued that boosting Britain’s birth rates would create a larger homegrown workforce, helping to end reliance on foreign labour.
The proposals include plans for a transferable marriage tax allowance that would exempt one spouse from paying tax on the first £25,000 of their income.
The other would enjoy a tax-free income of £20,000 under the policy.
Labour Party chairwoman Ellie Reeves said: “Nigel Farage, a private-educated stockbroker and career politician, has only ever cared about his own self-interest and personal ambition, never about what is good for working people in this country.
“Farage wants to abolish the NHS, praised Liz Truss’ disastrous mini-budget, opposed Labour’s landmark employment reforms and said Jaguar Land Rover, a huge employer, deserves to go bust.
“His Reform manifesto included billions of pounds worth of unfunded spending pledges but did not commit to the triple lock. Farage must urgently clarify whether he will cut the state pension to pay for his reckless tax cuts.
“Keir Starmer’s Labour Government is delivering real improvement to working people’s lives through our plan for change that has seen NHS waiting lists fall, wages rising faster than prices, and four interest rate cuts in a year, turbo-charged by a trio of trade deals that are good for jobs, bills and borders.”
