Farage aide jailed for dark web money laundering 'raises funds for Brexit Party'

A former aide to Nigel Farage jailed for illegally using the dark web to launder money is back raising funds for the Brexit Party, it was reported yesterday.

George Cottrell, 25, who is dating I’m a Celebrity...! telly star Georgia Toffolo, was UKIP’s fund-raising chief until he was arrested by US federal agents on charges of extortion, money laundering and fraud in 2016.

The rich aristocrat known as “Posh George” spent eight months in prison in the US.

But he has now resurfaced in Britain and has been pictured strolling casually in London, left, with Georgia, 24.

It is believed he is recapping his former role as an expert at finding cash, this time for Mr Farage’s latest political venture.

An insider told The Sunday Times: “He knows people.

“We’re not going to not use him, are we?”

A Brexit Party spokesman insisted: “He has no position with the party.”

Cottrell, reportedly worth £250million, grew up in the Caribbean and left school after being caught gambling.
