'Far from over' - Newcastle fans celebrate as Adama Traore strikes devastating blow to Fulham

Newcastle United fans were left jubilant after a late Adama Traore strike handed the Magpies a huge opportunity in the battle for survival.

The Wolves forward struck in injury time at Craven Cottage on Friday night to deal Fulham a devastating blow in their bid to pull of a great escape.

Scott Parker's side remain three points adrift of United having played two matches more, with trips to Arsenal and Chelsea to come.

United now know a victory at Burnley on Sunday lunchtime will re-establish a cushion to the relegation zone that had been whittled down in recent months.

It was a game of few chances in the capital, although there was VAR controversy as Wolves had a goal ruled out just before the break.

Willian Jose believed he had opened his account for Nuno Espirito Santo's side, but Daniel Podence was deemed offside by the slimmest of margins.

The match seemed to be destined to finish goalless, but Traore ended his lengthy goal drought with an empathic strike from distance in injury time.

This is how Newcastle fans reacted to Traore's injury-time winner:

'Utter disgust'

'Embarrassed'

'Apple pie and custard'

'Now we have to do something'

'Far from over'

'What a life'

'Six points and we're safe'
