Fantasy Premier League tips gameweek 23: Son Heung-Min, Raphinha, Tomas Soucek and more

Son Heung-Min - WBA (H)

Son is the premium attacking player in the fixture that jumps off the page this weekend but do Tottenham have the form to capitalise? Given his 56% ownership, it may be sensible to cover the South Korean’s points regardless.

Raphinha - CRY (H)

The best-kept secret in fantasy football for a few weeks now. Priced at just £5.3m and owned by just 1.5% of managers, Raphinha’s two goals and two assists in three games mean he will not be a differential for long.

Antonio Rudiger - SHU (A)

We’re getting closer to knowing Thomas Tuchel’s first-choice Chelsea line-up and Rudiger appears to be part of it. At just £4.5m, he offers a cheap route into a defence with three decent fixtures coming up, starting at Bramall Lane on Sunday.

Tomas Soucek - FUL (A)

Though hardly a differential, it is surprising that Soucek is only in 20% of squads after his remarkable run of scoring. It’s three goals in three games now for the Czech, who is proving to be more than just a threat on set pieces.

Luke Shaw - EVE (H)

Shaw is becoming difficult to ignore, priced at £4.9m and having established himself as United’s first-choice left back. Two first-half assists against Southampton allowed Solskjaer to rest him during the second half, keeping him fresh for Everton’s visit.

Captaincy

There’s a classic form vs fixture conundrum this week with Son Heung-Min. If he was scoring goals it would be straightforward but one in his last eight is a worry, even if he’s up against the top flight’s worst defence by a distance.

Bruno Fernandes delivered - eventually - against nine-man Southampton and could do so again for Everton’s visit to Old Trafford. Trusting Michail Antonio could be an effective play in yet another week without a stand-out pick.

Clean sheets

As Tottenham’s issues are more to do with their attack than defence, they remain a safe bet for a clean sheet.

Three consecutive Chelsea clean sheets bodes well for the trip to Sheffield United. Brighton travel to low-scoring Burnley on the back of two shut-outs.

Doubles and Blanks

When making this week’s transfer, bear in mind that six teams now have a double gameweek around the corner after several postponed games were rescheduled.

Manchester City, Everton, Burnley and Fulham all play twice in gameweek 24, while Leeds and Southampton play twice in gameweek 25.

Best XI

Mendy; Shaw, Rudiger, Cancelo; Son, Fernandes, Raphinha, Soucek; Antonio, Bamford, Wilson.
