Fantasy Premier League tips: FPL transfers, deadline, captains, scout and wildcard options for gameweek 24

More than two weeks after FPL managers last had to worry about a deadline, it’s time to turn the attention back to those teams ahead of gameweek 24.

Chelsea and Brighton are not in action, due to the Blues’ involvement in the Club World Cup, but every other Premier League side has a midweek fixture, as it stands, with the matches spread over three days.

Man United travel to face Burnley on Tuesday night, Man City host Brentford on Wednesday and the gameweek is rounded off on Thursday night, when Liverpool are at home to Leicester and Arsenal face a trip to Wolves.

Here, we run you through our top picks for GW24 with the deadline set for 6.15pm GMT on Tuesday...

Richarlison - Everton - £7.4m

Everton made the perfect start to life under Frank Lampard with a 4-1 win over Brentford in the FA Cup, already showing far more in attack than they did under Rafa Benitez. Richarlison got on the scoresheet, as he has done in two of his last Premier League appearances, and should have plenty of joy against a leaky Newcastle defence.

Diogo Jota - Liverpool - £8.4m

It’s uncertain whether Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will return from the Africa Cup of Nations in time to face Leicester on Thursday. Either way, Diogo Jota is likely to start and against a Foxes side that conceded four to Nottingham Forest and continue to look incredibly vulnerable at the back, he can enjoy plenty of success.

Philippe Coutinho - Aston Villa - £7.0m

Coming off the bench against Man United on his debut, Philippe Coutinho showed what he can bring to Aston Villa as his goal earned them a point. With a start against Everton and a couple more weeks of training under his belt, it seems likely he will cause Leeds real problems.

Aaron Cresswell - West Ham - £5.3m

Aaron Cresswell came off the bench against Kidderminster in the FA Cup but will almost certainly return to the starting lineup against Watford. The left-back has a great chance of securing clean-sheet points against the Hornets, who offered very little against Burnley as Roy Hodgson looks to focus on tightening them up at the back.

Emerson Royal - Tottenham - £4.9m

Antonio Conte was keen to add a right wing-back during the January transfer window, and Emerson Royal played like a man with a point to prove in the FA Cup win over Brighton. His deflected cross gave Spurs their second goal as the Brazilian got forward at will - more displays like that and the points will come quickly.

Odsonne Edouard - Crystal Palace - £6.5m

A striker that has scored three goals in his last four Premier League matches against a side with the worst defensive record in the league. What’s not to like? Odsonne Edouard will very much be looking forward to facing Norwich on Wednesday.

Nelson Semedo - Wolves - £4.8m

Nelson Semedo got an assist in his last Premier League match, against Brentford, and has seven clean sheets to his name so far this season. Wolves have been extremely solid at the back, and look set to frustrate an Arsenal team that have not scored in any of their last four matches in all competitions.
