Fantasy Premier League tips: FPL transfers, deadline, captains, free hit and wildcard options for gameweek 22

The Premier League returns in full force this weekend, with an early FPL deadline owing to the Friday night derby between Brighton and Crystal Palace.

While there have been smatterings of games here and there recently, this weekend has a full schedule on offer as England’s elite division gets back into the swing of things.

Chelsea travel to Manchester City while Tottenham welcome bitter rivals Arsenal in the two headline fixtures.

There are, of course, double gameweeks to consider too. With all in that mind, here are our FPL tips ahead of Friday’s deadline.

Defender

Alex Telles | Manchester United | £5.0m

With Luke Shaw suspended, Alex Telles’ delivery from set-pieces in particular could be a good selection given United’s games against Aston Villa and Brentford.

Midfielder

James Maddison | Leicester City | £6.9m

In excellent form this season despite Leicester City’s struggles as a collective, games against Burnley and Tottenham should offer Maddison the chance to add to his impressive attacking numbers.

Forwards

Jarrod Bowen | West Ham United | £6.7m

Away from the double gameweek, Jarrod Bowen’s form at West Ham United is too difficult to ignore.

On a hotstreak, don’t include him at your peril.

Cristiano Ronaldo | Manchester United | £12.5m

It doesn’t take a genius to point out that including one of the greatest goalscorers of all time might be a good idea.

With two games to play this week, only a fool would write Ronaldo off.

Emmanuel Dennis | Watford | £6.1m

Watford might be struggling towards the bottom of the league but Dennis has enjoyed a very strong individual campaign thus far.

Back in training after his injury, games against fellow strugglers Newcastle United and Burnley look tailor-made for goals.
