Fantasy Premier League football is back ahead of the 2019-20 campaign and there's often plenty of cash up for grabs when it comes to battling it out with your work colleagues or friends in the fantasy leagues.
But who exactly should you have in your team to help you finish among the elite?
Here are the players who are likely to score you the most points this season.
GOALKEEPERS
Alisson (Liverpool) - £6.0m
The Liverpool goalkeeper was the highest-scorer in his position last season and will be one of the top dogs again this season as Jurgen Klopp looks to lead the Reds to Premier League glory.
He is the joint-most expensive goalkeeper available in Fantasy Premier League but that comes with the guarantee of regular starts, plenty of clean sheets behind a solid defence and a shedload of points.
Ederson (Man City) - £6.0m
Like Alisson, Ederson is the most expensive goalkeeper available in Fantasy Premier League but he offers the same incentives as his compatriot as part of a title-winning side in each of the past two years.
His haul of 169 points last season was second only to Alisson and he can be expected to achieve a similar return in 2019/20.
Jordan Pickford (Everton) - £5.5m
The England international was part of an Everton side that endured a turbulent maiden campaign under Marco Silva but he still managed to rank third for goalkeepers in FPL.
With more consistency in the 2019/20 campaign, Pickford and Everton’s defence could improve significantly and, with a return of 161 points last year, he has an excellent starting point.
Hugo Lloris (Spurs) - £5.5m
Guaranteed minutes as Tottenham captain, a wealth of experience, part of a solid defence and with a budget that allows for a little bit more spending elsewhere, Hugo Lloris is a solid bet for any FPL side.
He has hit a return of 140 or more points in five of the last six seasons, so he is a reliable option to select between the posts.
DEFENDERS
Andrew Robertson (Liverpool) - £7.0m
The highest-scoring defender last season, Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson is one of the most expensive options available in this area but his impact at both ends of the field guarantees a return of points.
Having hit a tally of 213 last season, Robertson is among the most popular defenders available in FPL and his popularity is for a good reason.
Lucas Digne (Everton) - £6.0m
A more affordable high-scoring defender from across Merseyside, Lucas Digne hit 150+ points in his first campaign in the Premier League and could surpass that figure in an Everton side that is more consistent this term.
Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) - £6.5m
The PFA Player of the Year winner finished second for most points among defenders in FPL last season behind teammate Andrew Robertson and the Liverpool defender has been first choice for many players already.
For a rather hefty sum of your budget, Van Dijk offers plenty of points for clean sheets and defensive contributions, while his aerial ability offers a threat in front of goal at the opposite end of the pitch.
Aymeric Laporte (Man City) - £6.5m
In terms of picking a top defender from the defending Premier League champions, Aymeric Laporte is the best bet after a return of 177 points last season and his importance for Pep Guardiola’s side continues to rise.
The 2019/20 could be decisive for the 25-year-old as he attempts to push his way into the France squad ahead of the European Championships and that could result in further quality performances for City.
MIDFIELDERS
Bernardo Silva (Man City) - £8.0m
The Portugal international was not one of the heavy hitters from midfield in terms of his return of points last season but a haul of 154 is not to be sniffed at, especially ahead of a decisive campaign.
David Silva has confirmed this will be his last year at Manchester City, which gives his namesake Bernardo the opportunity to firmly establish himself as the Spaniard’s long-term successor at the Etihad Stadium.
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - £12.5m
There isn’t too many players in Fantasy Premier League that will cost you the same sort of outlay as Mohamed Salah but there are also not too many players who offer the same sort of points.
The Egypt international has been sensational in his two campaigns so far at Liverpool, hitting over 200 points in each, and is expected to achieve a similar feat during the 2019/20 season.
Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth) - £7.5m
Only four midfielders achieved a higher points tally than Bournemouth ace Ryan Fraser last season, who accumulated 181, and that sort of form saw him linked with the likes of Arsenal this summer.
The Scotland international has entered the final 12 months of his contract on the south coast and, as such, will need to maintain the same sort of levels in his performances in order to earn a move to a top-six club.
Raheem Sterling (Man City) - £12.0m
Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling is a surefire bet to score plenty of goals and contribute a shedload of assists in the forthcoming season, which equates to a very healthy return for the £12.0m outlay you need for his services.
With 17 goals last season and 18 the campaign before, Sterling is showing the sort of consistency required to be a world-class name and his age means there is still plenty more improvement to come.
FORWARDS
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) - £11.0m
Joint top-scorer in the Premier League in his first full season at Arsenal, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has long been established as one of the deadliest finishers in world football and proved that last term.
He will continue to be crucial for the Gunners this season alongside Alexandre Lacazette, with a partnership that guarantees a decent return of goals and assists.
Sergio Aguero (Man City) - £12.0m
Manchester City’s all-time leading scorer is arguably the best Premier League player this decade and he comes with the certainees of plenty of goals - having hit 20+ in each of the last five seasons.
Adding a further 11 assists last season, his highest tally in five years, Aguero has shown he still has plenty of other areas to offer with his game, which means more points for players in FPL.
Raul Jimenez (Wolves) - £7.5m
181 points last season and a very affordable £7.5m pricetag, there is a good reason why Wolves’ striker Raul Jimenez is among the most popular players in FPL this season.
Wolves are expected to excel again this season and there continues to be a wealth of excitement surrounding their attacking ranks, where Jimenez is the leading man after contributing 13 goals and 10 assists last term.
Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) - £9.0m
Another one of the Premier League’s most reliable goalscorers, Jamie Vardy is a very decent pick heading into 2019/20 as part of a Leicester City side who should offer much more stability next season.
With the likes of James Maddison, Demarai Gray and Youri Tielemans providing support, Vardy can be expected to register another decent return in front of goal having hit 15+ in three of the past four campaigns.
