Fantasy Life i multiplayer guide – How to play with friends

Fantasy Life i is a lot of fun playing alone, but it can also be enjoyed with your friends, and you can share the progress with your buddies.

There are different types of multiplayer available with the game, and they unlock at different points. This guide will provide you with all the information required to unlock the ability to play with your friends.

How to access multiplayer in Fantasy Life i

When you start your journey in Fantasy Life i, all forms of multiplayer will be locked. The first form of multiplayer you'll get access to is Couch co-op, which is easy to unlock. This feature gets unlocked in the very first hour of your gameplay, after a cutscene with Edward and Trip.

You'll get a pop-up informing you that Remote Play Together is available. This is the equivalent of the game's couch co-op feature, where your friend can join in as the second player. They will take charge of Trip with the help of a second controller.

The full-fledged online multiplayer gets unlocked during Chapter 3. Once you have gained access to the guild building, it will be constructed at the Base Camp. You'll find NPCs inside the building, who will ask you to invite your friends to play together.

Is multiplayer worth it in Fantasy Life i

The multiplayer has certain limitations, but it's quite fun. However, you'll be playing casually, whether that's couch co-op or online multiplayer. Whenever you're playing with a friend, all in-game progress will be temporarily stopped. You can neither complete the main story quests with your friends, nor can you report to your Life Masters.

Ideally, multiplayer is best suited for farming resources and crafting items. It's also entertaining to pair up with your friends and defeat enemies together. While the co-op experience has limitations, you can still have entertaining sessions with your friends (as long as you don't mind playing in a non-competitive fashion).
