Having the top pick in your fantasy football draft can be a gift and a curse.
It's easy when there's someone universally accepted as the best choice. Think LaDainian Tomlinson or Marshall Faulk in their prime. Or even Priest Holmes.
But when you have a choice? There were plenty of owners agonizing over the choice between Todd Gurley and Le'Veon Bell. It's almost laughable now, but I feel bad for those who chose Bell. It's hard to recover from something like that.
Bell hasn't played a game this season and if you weren't prescient enough to also draft James Conner _ or at least grab him off the waiver wire _ you'd be behind the eight ball.
Gurley, on the other hand, is on pace for 2,320 total yards, 56 receptions and 29 total touchdowns. It's a season on par with Tomlinson's legendary 2006 campaign.
Gurley owners consider him the gift that keeps giving on a weekly basis. Bell owners will be cursing his name for an eternity.
