Fantasy football waiver wire Week 4: Khalil Herbert and Trevor Lawrence are targets

Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season is over. And what a week of football it was!

If you play fantasy football, you’re already planning ahead with waivers after a busy week of games.

That’s what we’re here for, a roundup of some of the players you could be targeting ahead of Week 5.

Some of the names below might be taken already, but if not, there are a bunch of dudes who could change your fantasy fortunes this season. Let’s run through them, in no particular order, and we’ve updated this after the Cowboys and Giants game we saw on Monday Night Football.

1
RB Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears

He’s probably on a bunch of teams already given the preseason buzz about how he fit better on the Bears’ offense.

Now he could have a big opportunity after David Montgomery’s injury — you saw what he did last week with 20 carries for 157 yards and two touchdowns. If he starts against the Giants, he might go off again.

Another guy who’s probably rostered. If he isn’t? He could have some huge games with D’Andre Swift potentially out for a bit.

3
WR Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers

Look, the Packers’ receiver corps could be frustrating week to week. When Sammy Watkins and Christian Watson play, Aaron Rodgers could keep spreading it around. But the rookie stepped up last week and that’s more than worth a pickup.

4
RB Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings

If Dalvin Cook misses any time, you know what to do.

5
WR Zay Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars

He had nine targets and six catches in Week 1. OK! Intriguing.

This week? How about 11 targets, 10 receptions, 85 yards and a score? Maybe he’s the perfect No. 2 to Christian Kirk?

6
WR Greg Dortch, Arizona Cardinals

Dude has at least 55 yards in all three of his starts. He got 10 targets last week. That’s worth a lot more than you’re giving him credit for.

7
WR Mack Hollins, Las Vegas Raiders

After 158 yards and a score, you could snag him, but know that when Hunter Renfrow returns, it could all fall to Earth.

8
QB Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

The yardage hasn’t hit 300 yards yet this season but doesn’t matter: It looks like we’re heading toward a breakout for the Year 2 stud.

9
TE David Njoku, Cleveland Browns

Desperate at tight end? Maybe he’s going to be more involved after a monster week against the Steelers.
