Fantasy Football: Waiver-wire targets for Week 14

It was an exciting and interesting Week 13, where we saw some new names enter into our collective fantasy football minds. Injuries and breakout stars are going to send fantasy managers scrambling to waivers this week, and we can fill you in on who to target before waivers clear.

1. Noah Brown, WR, Houston Texans

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

With Tank Dell having his season ended due to a broken Fibula it will be up to Noah Brown to step into the role as the deep threat in this explosive offense. We have seen Brown have multiple huge games in which he was able to blow past the secondary, and he should be able to capitalize on the bump in snaps. Brown isn’t quite Tank Dell, but he should be able to replicate some of the points. He is a priority add.

2. Antonio Gibson, RB, Washington Commanders

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

We have seen in season pasts that Antonio Gibson is a fully capable starter at the running back position and one of the better dual threats in the league. With regular starter Brian Robinson Jr. dealing with a hamstring injury that could sideline him or linger on into the season, Gibson is certainly going to see increased touches. Gibson is worth a tentative add and start should Robinson be less than 100%.

3. Jameis Winston, QB, New Orleans Saints

Butch Dill

Is Jameis Winston the best quarterback in the league? No, of course not. Is he going to sling the ball up and down the field and put up huge fantasy numbers in just about every game? Probably. The opportunity is once again presenting itself for Winston to come in and take over this starting role with Derek Carr dealing with a a rib injury and being inserted into concussion protocol. Quarterback needy teams should rush to the waiver wire to pick up Winston and ride the wave as long as they can.

4. Khalil Shakir, WR, Buffalo Bills

Gregory Fisher-USA TODAY Sports

They hype surrounding Shakir has softened a little after the Bills took their bye week. That doesn’t mean smart fantasy players shouldn’t seize the opportunity to snag an undervalued asset who is still widely available. Shakir is averaging over ten points a game over the past six weeks, and he should be able to build on those numbers as this offense begins to feel itself more and more as the season moves forward.
