The Los Angeles Rams’ running back group felt like a trap coming into the 2020 season. Cam Akers was a 2020 second-round pick, and Darrell Henderson was a 2019 third-round pick. You would think the Rams wouldn’t have drafted another running back, if they weren’t a little displeased with Henderson — and if they didn’t expect big things for Akers, right? Then again, they wouldn’t simply give up on Henderson after one year… right?
The L.A. running backs have been mostly unreliable. But perhaps that could change. With Henderson suffering a knee injury, we could see Akers step into a more prominent role. That — and more — in this week’s waiver wire targets. As we do every week, we included only players that are owned in 50% or fewer of ESPN fantasy leagues.
