Fantasy football waiver wire: Should you keep or cut these 7 players ahead of Week 7?

You’re waking up on Tuesday reading all that you can about the players that you should be picking up off the waiver wire as you prepare for Week 7 of fantasy football in 2022.

But it’s likely there aren’t as many things written about who you should be dropping to grab those players. That’s what this weekly column — keep ’em or dump ’em! — will hopefully answer for you: Some help in the debate over who you should keep or drop in order to improve your team.

It’s a decent waiver wire week, so let’s dive in to help you with who to keep or drop:

1
RB Chase Edmonds, Miami Dolphins

I said you have to keep him last week. He carried the ball twice in Week 6. I was wrong.

VERDICT: Drop him

2
RB Cam Akers, Los Angeles Rams

Alright, so it seems like his time in Los Angeles is coming to a close.

But what if a change of scenery to a team with a better rushing attack happens? And what if he’s motivated to prove what happened with the Rams was just a hiccup? He’s a bench stash until we see where he goes.

VERDICT: Keep him

Yes, I’m aware he caught a touchdown and totaled a season-high 63 yards in Week 6.

But he’s been kind of bad, and Matthew Stafford has struggled.

At this point, you have to keep him … but see if someone wants to buy on that performance against the Panthers.

VERDICT: Keep him (and trade him!)

4
RB Melvin Gordon, Denver Broncos

Three carries. Eight yards. Latavius Murray was the lead RB for the Broncos on Monday with a 15-66 night. Feels like the coaching staff saw all the turnovers and decided to change things up, so I’m fine with dropping him.

VERDICT: Drop him

5
RB Mike Boone, Denver Broncos

Feels like he’s RB2 in Denver, so you can keep him for now in the hopes the Broncos will somehow improve on offense, and in case Murray gets hurt.

VERDICT: Keep him

6
WR Elijah Moore, New York Jets

Just eight targets total in his past two games before Sunday … and then nothing. The yardage has been capped to 53 yards or under this season with no touchdowns, and the Jets’ offense is a little more crowded with playmakers. I’m fine with dropping him.

VERDICT: Drop him

7
TE Tyler Conklin, New York Jets

Just three targets in his past two games.

VERDICT: Drop him
