Fantasy football: Should you keep or cut these 7 players ahead of Week 7?

You’re waking up on Tuesday reading all that you can about the players that you should be picking up off the waiver wire as you prepare for Week 7 of fantasy football in 2019.

But it’s likely there aren’t as many things written about who you should be dropping to grab those players. That’s what this weekly column — keep ’em or dump ’em! — will hopefully answer for you: Some help in the debate over who you should keep or drop in order to improve your team.

It’s another week with not a lot of notable talent on the waiver wire, but with bye weeks all over the place, you have some tough decisions to make. Let’s see if we can help.

RB Malcolm Brown, Los Angeles Rams

You may be tempted to drop him if Todd Gurley returns … but I’m still hanging on to him and Darrell Henderson no matter what. Gurley isn’t a guarantee to be healthy all season.

VERDICT: Keep him

RB Rashaad Penny, Seattle Seahawks

I had him in a couple of leagues in case Chris Carson’s early-season fumbles became an issue. But I think it’s safe to let him go now that we’ve seen Carson’s ascension to stardom.

VERDICT: Drop him

RB Adrian Peterson, Washington Redskins

Yeah, that’s right I’m sticking a guy here after a 118-yard performance against the Dolphins. But his upcoming schedule is BRUTAL: he’ll face the 49ers, Vikings, Bills, have a bye, play the Jets, Lions, Panthers, Packers, Eagles and Giants. That’s not the best for a running back. I’d be perfectly fine with letting him go or trading him if you can find an owner desperate enough.

VERDICT: Drop him

QB Gardner Minshew, Jacksonville Jaguars

He was in a near-perfect spot against the Saints, but oof. Not good. Still, next week he’s facing a sieve of a pass D in the Bengals.

VERDICT: Keep him

WR Diontae Johnson, Pittsburgh Steelers

I’m not sure many of you own him, but now that the Steelers are down to their third-string QB, he’s lost most of the value he had when he scored in Weeks 3 and 4.

VERDICT: Drop him

WR Preston Williams, Miami Dolphins

Maybe you picked him up because he’s picked up six or more targets in his last four games, but his QB play is too erratic.

VERDICT: Drop him

TE Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Rams

Man, did he fall to Earth after two great games. But that was against the 49ers, and the entire Rams’ offense was terrible on Sunday. Stick with him, especially with good tight ends being so rare.

VERDICT: Keep him
