Fantasy football scout tips gameweek 8: Harry Kane, Eden Hazard, James Maddison and more

Harry Kane

Harry Kane retains top spot in our picks for another week after four goals in his last three games across all competitions.

Granted, two of those goals were penalties, but Kane seems to be slowly returning to something approaching form.

If the World Cup Golden Boot winner still requires more shooting practice, who better to meet at Wembley this weekend than Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City?

Eden Hazard

On a weekend when Manchester City and Liverpool players could cancel each other out, going without at least one of Harry Kane or Eden Hazard could prove costly.

Hazard travels to Southampton on Sunday, having registered attacking returns in six of the seven gameweeks so far.

If you can free up £11.1m, perhaps by parting with a certain Egyptian, he is worth the expense.

James Maddison

Fresh from receiving his first senior England call-up on Thursday, James Maddison will look to maintain his consistent point-scoring form for Leicester City this weekend.

The 21-year-old has been a regular in our picks this season, with returns in each of his last four outings and a modest £6.9m price tag.

Marco Silva’s Everton visit Maddison at the King Power Stadium this weekend and have shown a potential to be porous.

Jose Holebas

Sixth-place Watford’s schedule eases up over the coming weeks, with some enticing fixtures against newly-promoted clubs and early stragglers.

Jose Holebas has caught the eye, with corner-taking duties under his belt and plenty of adventurous play from left-back.

Bournemouth, who only trail Watford on goal difference, visit Vicarage Road on Saturday with a suspect defence.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson

Though it proved best to give Burnley a wide berth in the opening weeks of the season, Sean Dyche’s side have started to show faint signs of life.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson has played his part in their mini-revival, with a goal and three assists in the wins over Bournemouth and Cardiff.

The fixture computer has kindly sent Huddersfield Town their way this weekend and the low-owned Gudmundsson could profit again.

Honourable mentions: Mat Ryan, Kieran Trippier, Luke Shaw, Son Heung-Min, Alexandre Lacazette.
