Fantasy football: Are any Bengals worth a start vs. Ravens?

It is easy to look at the Cincinnati Bengals in a fantasy football spotlight, say “no thanks” and call it a day.

And doing so as the winless Bengals hit the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6 would mostly makes sense.

Mostly.

Andy Dalton has only thrown seven touchdowns against four picks while scoring more than 20 fantasy points once. John Ross is out hurt. So is A.J. Green. Big-play tight end Tyler Eifert has 95 yards and a score but has whiffed on touchdown chances in each of the last two weeks.

But it isn’t all bad.

Tyler Boyd is still one of the best starts in fantasy football despite it all. He has 10 or more targets in four of five games and 17 or more points twice. These Ravens cough up the 10th-most points to opposing wideouts and have allowed the most yards after catch to wideouts over the past four weeks.

And don’t forget Joe Mixon. His season-long numbers look bad but playing through an ankle injury behind a horrific offensive line will do that. But he’s averaged four yards per carry or more in each of his last three games. The Ravens allow the 11th-most points to opposing running backs and the second-most rushing yards of any team.

Thanks to Boyd and Mixon, even with a bad line on the road in a hopeless season, there is some fantasy value to unearth on the Bengals side. It’s still a risk, but daily and standard fantasy players can find some good return.
