Fantastic moment former Hibs boss John Hughes makes epic 25-mile cycle to visit beloved dog

It's fair to say former Hibs boss John Hughes didn't let his one daily, government-approved exercise session go to waste.

We might be on lockdown, and in the midst of a global pandemic, but the football boss wasn't letting that stop him visiting his beloved family dog.

Hughes cycled 25-miles just so he could visit the pooch, at his daughter Rebecca's house in Edinburgh.

She shared a fantastic video on social media which shows the Hibs hero letting himself in her back garden and playing with the ecstatic pup, as she watches on from behind a window – keeping a socially safe distance.

Rebecca tweeted: "My dad has just cycled 25 miles + let himself in my back garden so he can see and have a play with the dog. We've watched through the window. Don't know who was happier. Disclaimer: dogs don't carry corona."

John Hughes played for Hibs for four years in the mid-to-late '90s, before becoming manager of the club in 2009. He was most recently in charge of Raith Rovers.
