Fans wish Sunderland forward Benji Kimpioka a speedy recover after operation

Sunderland fans have wished forward Benji Kimpioka well after hamstring surgery.

The forward is expected to be out for three to four months after seeing a specialist.

The striker limped out of Sunderland U23s win at Aston Villa and was sent for a scan on the injury last week.

Kimpioka posted on his Instagram: "It all starts from now.

"I've never felt so mentally prepared and strong.

"Thank you for all the kind messages, words can't describe how much they mean."

Former Sunderland youngster Bali Mumba was among the people to wish him well.

Black Cats fans took to social media, Patrick Quickly said: "Speedy recovery, we need you!"

June Middleton said: "Haway Benji we need you get well soon."

Thom Gray said: "Best wishes Benji."
