Fans wish Bristol's Maya Jama speedy recovery amid mumps fears

Fans of Maya Jama have wished the presenter a speedy recovery after she posted photos of her swollen face on social media.

The BBC Radio 1 presenter from Bristol said she was unsure if she was suffering from mumps or a swollen gland but was able to see the funny side in a series of lighthearted posts.

At one point, the 25-year-old joked she looked "hilarious" and many followers responded by telling her to get well soon.

She wrote on Twitter: "Happy Valentine’s Day! I’ve woken up with half a swollen face, incredible scenes."

She then posted before and after photos on Instagram, writing: "On the latest episode of “LIFE COMES AT YOU FAST” Swell head volume 1.. it’s day 2 of being house bound, my head is round as f**k and i’m so bored I’ve downloaded the love island game."

Alongside a photo of her swollen head, she posted: "Update: still no conformation if it’s mumps or a swollen gland but I can confirm I look f*****g hilarious.
