Jose Mourinho has stated that Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the "best stadium in the world" in his first interview since taking on the Spurs job.
Tipped to replace Mauricio Pochettino in the hotseat after the Argentine's dismissal on Tuesday evening, the 56-year-old was confirmed as the club's new head coach on a three-and-a-half year contract 11 hours later.
The ex-Chelsea boss has spent this afternoon on the training pitch with his new players at Hotspur Way as he gets ready for his first game in charge on Saturday lunchtime at West Ham.
As well as putting his squad through their paces, Mourinho also had time to sit down for an interview with the club and he waxed lyrical about Spurs' stunning new home.
"When you say beautiful stadium you are too humble," he said. "You have to say the best stadium in the world. I think that is the reality.
"The training ground is second to none. It probably can only be compared with some American football training grounds.
"You cannot compare with European football at any level - and I've been in the majority of the best places.
"It's impossible to compare anything the same as the stadium. I think it's something that has to make us all very, very proud.
"But not just that, the conditions you have to work in are absolutely amazing."
Finally returning to N17 back in April after spending almost two seasons at Wembley, Mourinho also recalled coming up against the Lilywhites at White Hart Lane.
"To play against Tottenham at White Hart Lane was always hard but beautiful," he added. "It was one of these places where I used to go with passion but also with respect."
