Although it’s still the most impressive thing that Tim Tebow is up at Triple-A Syracuse and continues to work on his hitting skills, his overall numbers — .155 average, one home run, 14 RBI and a .647 OPS in 46 games — don’t exactly scream All-Star.
Yet if fans had their way, Tebow would be in the running for the 2019 Triple-A All-Star Game in July.
Per Syracuse.com, he currently sits at seventh among outfielders “despite sitting last in the league among all qualifiers in four major offensive categories.” It’s because fans are voting for starters, with the ballots closing by June 21, which makes sense — people love Tebow even though he’s struggled and was even struck out looking against a position player just a week or so after hitting his first Triple-A home run.
The kicker, however — according to Syracuse.com, online voting “counts for only a third of the starting lineup,” so I doubt the others who have a say (the media, managers and GMs) would cast a vote for him.

This all makes the most sense. Fans are rooting for him to succeed because he’s an inspiration. Maybe we’ll have to wait until next year when he’s miraculously found his groove and proving everyone wrong again.
