Fans walk out of Debbie Harry at Cheltenham Literature Festival after 'disgraceful' interview

Debbie Harry's appearance at the Cheltenham Literature Festival proved to be a disaster for all the loyal fans who had queued up to see her.

Many ended up walking out after her interview with Blondie co-founder and former partner Chris Stein and artist and director Rob Roth was branded a "disgrace".

They slammed the dry questions and boring answers given by Debbie and Chris.

The audience were baffled by Roth's cringe jokes and wondered why he was reading out Facebook comments from fans who were watching at home.

Many said his questions were too long and he didn't let the stars speak.

In the last 20 minutes of the event he took questions from the crowd, but told them not to tell their "life story", despite his own ramblings.

And the last ten minutes saw even more people get up and leave.

A festival worker could be heard saying, "I've never seen that amount of people walk out of a literature event so early."

Any many took to Twitter to rant about the event.

One tweeted: "Just been to see Debbie Harry @CheltLitFest Very disappointing, embarrassing lack of preparation and poor delivery. Unstructured, uninformative and not very entertaining.

"People left after few minutes, wish we had. Having seen many great lit fest events, a shame this was so poor."

Another tweeted: "@CheltLitFest Debbie Harry interview was appalling. The interviewer was possibly the worst I’ve ever seen. So many people left."

A third posted: said: "@CheltLitFest fantastic festival but what the hell was that Debbie Harry debacle? Walked out with loads of others! Worst ever. Disgrace!!!"

Another agreed: "Amazing to see Debbie Harry at @CheltLitFest but boy, was it poorly done. Terrible, disjointed questioning. Such a shame."
