Fans urged to line route for Tom Parker as The Wanted star is laid to rest

Fans of singer Tom Parker have been urged to line the route as he goes on his final journey. The Wanted star will be laid to rest on Wednesday following his death last month.

The artist was just 33 when he died after being diagnosed with brain cancer. His funeral is at Petts Wood in south-east London.

In a message to fans on Instagram his widow Kelsey Parker wrote there would be a "private celebration of life" on Wednesday April 20. She added: "We know many of you would like to pay your respects as well, so would love for you to join us in Petts Wood from 10am.

"It would be beautiful to have everyone line the route as we head to our private service. You are then welcome to join us outside the church for the duration where the service will be relayed on screens."

She gave further details for fans to attend giving the address as Queensway, Petts Wood, BR5 1DG.

Tom Parker married Kelsey in 2018 and the couple had two children. daughter Aurelia Rose and son, Bodhi.

In 2020 he announced he had been diagnosed with stage four brain cancer, called glioblastoma. He continued to share his battle with the disease online. But the condition was inoperable and he died on March 30.

At the time of his death Kelsey paid tribute to her husband on Instagram. She wrote: "Our hearts are broken. Tom was the centre of our world. We can't imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence."

She went on: "We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom's light continues to shine for his beautiful children. Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I'm forever proud of you."

The Wanted formed in 2009, with a line up of Tom Parker, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuiness. They had two UK number one singles, Glad You Came and All Time Low, - and eight other top 10 hits including Chasing The Sun, Heart Vacancy and Lightning.
