Fans think Phillip Schofield could be the Hedgehog on The Masked Singer

Fans are wondering if Phillip Schofield could be the hedgehog on The Masked Singer.

This Morning and Dancing On Ice presenter is one of the celeb suspects in the frame on the bizarre hit ITV singing show, which sees stars singing while disguised by elaborate costumes.

Each week a celebrity panel and viewers watching at home try to work out who is hiding behind the masks, and they think Phil could be one of them.

"Hedgehog is @Schofe," tweeted one viewer.

"Yes that is so Schofield," said another.

Viewers also think the hedgehog could also be Salford comic and West End star Jason Manford.

And, thinking she detected a northern accent, panellist Davina McCall guessed Cold Feet actor John Thomson.

Phillip, 57, who is originally from Oldham, has already been quizzed about whether he could be the hedgehog by former Love Island star Kem Cetinay on the ITV magazine show This Morning.

But he wasn't giving anything away if he is.

"Poker face from me," he told Kem.

Phillip, 57, who has been flooded with support after coming out as gay on This Morning on Friday, has singing experience on the West End stage.

He took over the role of Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from Jason Donovan in 1991.

He then played title role of Doctor Dolittle at the Hammersmith Apollo in London and toured the UK.
