The Drake Curse may have been broken recently when the rapper and Toronto Raptors ambassador watched his team win an NBA title thanks to Kawhi Leonard and Co.
But back in 2014, it seems like Drake was still putting hexes on athletes.
On Friday, fans were thrilled to see Drake release Care Package — a collection of songs that were floating around on SoundCloud or YouTube over the years — on streaming services.
One of those songs is Draft Day, which he put together in 2014. The opening lyrics shout out Johnny Manziel — who was taken by the Cleveland Browns in that year’s NFL draft — and Andrew Wiggins, the Toronto native who was the top selection in the 2014 NBA draft.
So … yeesh. We all know what happened to Manziel, and Wiggins has become a problem for the Timberwolves with his giant contract. Fans took to Twitter to point out this throwback example of the Drake Curse:
