Fans spot something strange about Man City's FA Cup final kit

Manchester City are seeking a historic domestic treble in the FA Cup final against Watford at Wembley.

A David Silva strike gave City a 1-0 lead before they doubled their advantage shortly before half-time on a huge occasion with the new Premier League champions eyeing more silverware.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted that Pep Guardiola's side were wearing an unusual shirt for the occasion - with an intriguing explanation for the change.

Unlike Watford, City did not have the FA Cup affiliation patch on their sleeve, reportedly due to the fact it advertises competition sponsors Emirates, rivals of City's main sponsors Etihad Airlines.

Having been given permission to omit the patches, City instead opted to edit their sponsors logo in response - with "Choose Etihad" emblazoned across their shirts.

The kit sponsor usually says "Etihad Airways" - with the change appearing to be a direct response to the rival advertiser sponsoring the competition.

It was not the only intriguing kit-related topic of conversation surrounding Manchester City at the FA Cup Final.

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the success, the Nike shirts matched the design worn by the club half a century ago and featured a historic club crest.

They then changed into their altered blue kit ahead of the game, with Watford wearing their yellow and black home kit.

Guardiola's side took control of the game heading into the break after David Silva's strike was followed up by Gabriel Jesus' effort.

They wrapped up the Premier League title last week and also won the League Cup in June, meaning the FA Cup win would make them the first side in English men's football to secure a domestic treble.
