Fans slam I'm A Celebrity as eviction still takes place following app 'wording error'

Viewers of ITV's I'm A Celebrity were left furious last night, after a wording error on the app meant that all votes that had been cast on there were not counted.

Instead, the eviction, which saw Radio 1Xtra host Adele Roberts booted from the Jungle, was based on phone votes alone.

In a statement about the error, ITV said: "Due to a wording error on the app, the result of tonight’s vote will be based on phone votes alone. If you’ve already voted via the app we are very sorry, but your vote will not count tonight."

Viewers were asked to save their favourite celebrities ahead of the first Jungle dumping - however, the wording on the app read 'vote off' which led many to think they were meant to vote to evict.

People really weren't happy with Adele's eviction, and called for the vote to be cancelled.

"Voting should have been cancelled. Unfair on Adele. How can you only count half of them votes? Not a chance would either of them been in bottom two if there wasn’t a error on your end," said one.

"That’s very wrong - so many people will have voted via the app and it could have made the result totally different," another added.

A third critic slammed: "Wtaf ! Most people vote by App. What wording error? This is a fix. Andrew or Cliff should have gone. Not Adele. Bad form."

"Absolute travesty. Suppose it was “easier” for you than refunding the phone voters. Cr*p result!" fumed a fourth viewer.
