Fans shame rapper Snoop Dogg over Paul Gascoigne 'alcohol abuse' post

Snoop Dogg has been blasted by his own fans for branding ex-England football legend Paul Gascoigne as a prime example of 'alcohol abuse'.

The American rapper was widely condemned today for posting a picture of the ex-England midfielder on his Instagram account in a post about the dangers of drinking too much.

In a post on Instagram the singer posted pictures of himself and Gazza, as he is popularly known, with text saying they are 27 years apart.

Gazza is pictured under the title 'alcohol abuse' in the post is shown to age more harshly than Snoop Dogg under the label 'marijuana abuse' - seemingly an attempt to suggest that cannabis is healthier than drinking.

But fans were fuming at Snoop bringing ex-England midfielder Gaz in to make such a statement.

Snoop was branded 'insensitive' for picturing Gazza, whose battles with alcohol and his mental health have been well-documented in recent years.

One wrote: "Wow I can't believe what #SnoopDogg tweeted about Paul Gascoigne when he has an illness and Snoop chooses to be a stoner and not for medical reasons."

Another added: "Snoop Dogg disrespecting Paul Gascoigne considering he suffered with alcoholism and other issues. F*****g disgrace."

Twitter user Aaron Gordon said: "Snoop Dogg is cancelled for going after Gazza."

Of course Piers Morgan couldn't resist waging in, branding Snoop "nasty" for the post. "Shame on you Snoop Dogg," he added.

It's not known if the rapper even knows who Brit star Paul Gascoigne is - but as for Gaza himself, he is catching the rays in Benidorm.

Controversial Gascoigne was filmed at the Ibrox Bar in the Spanish resort earlier mouthing along to the line 'F*** the Pope and the IRA."

It isn't the first time, as the former England international also got in a spot of bother for singing the chant in Alloa last September and in Ayrshire in 2016.
