Fans say Piers Morgan 'gone too far' and 'obsessed' with latest Meghan Markle jibe

Former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has taken a battering after sharing a controversial meme about Meghan Markle.

The Mirror reports that fans said that he "needs to stop letting Meghan Markle live in his head rent-free" - after his latest jibe went down like a cup of cold sick.

Back in March, he was forced off GMB after another rant regarding the pregnant Duchess of Sussex and refusing to apologise.

Now, he has been taking potshots at the soon to be mum-of-two at any given opportunity.

However it seems that even the outspoken presenter has gone too far this time, after he posted a meme about Meghan eyeing up a newly single Bill Gates in the wake of the Microsoft billionaire's divorce shock.

He took to Instagram and Twitter on Wednesday (May 6, 2021) morning to share an image of Meghan smiling to herself with text reading: "So Bill Gates just got divorced."

Money emojis followed, making it clear Piers' feelings towards the former Suits actress.

But rather than join him in slating Meghan, many of his followers were outraged that he continues to indulge in a one-sided feud against the ex-Royal.

One person said: "She lives in your head rent free."

Another said: "You're obsessed with her. WEIRD!"

"Gosh, do you spend every waking hour thinking about her? #obsessed," commented a third.

His latest attack comes just after his brutal dig at Meghan regarding her plans to release a children's book.

The Bench follows the bond between a child and its father, and is believed to be drawn from Meghan's own experience watching Harry raise little Archie.

But Piers weighed in almost immediately after Meghan announced the book, deriding her for using her royal title to shift sales.

In his latest column for the Daily Mail, Piers said that Meghan "continues to cynically exploit her royal titles because she knows that's the only reason anyone is paying her vast sums of money to spew her uniquely unctuous brand of pious hectoring gibberish in Netflix documentaries, Spotify podcasts or children's books".

He added: "Of course, her equally cynical publishers don't give a damn about any of this shocking double standard."

Confirming her new book The Bench on Tuesday, Meghan said in a statement: "The Bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father's Day, the month after Archie was born. That poem became this story."

She went on to say: "My hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the make-up, as much as it does with mine."
