Fans react to Rangers charging £10 for stream of mid-season friendly

Rangers supporters have hit out at the Premiership title chasers after the club announced they will be charging £9.99 to air Saturday's friendly clash in Dubai.

Steven Gerrard 's side will get some much-needed minutes under their belt against Uzbekistani side Lokomotiv Tashkent during their warm-weather training camp.

The Ibrox side are riding a crest of a wave after their 2-1 win over Celtic in their final match before the winter shutdown but fans are being asked to fork out to keep up to date.

Subscribers to Rangers TV Unlimited will be able to watch the match without paying the one-off fee.

But some fans are less than impressed with the pricing for the exhibition match with the game set to kick-off at 11am UK time.

Sean Hamilton wrote: "£10, ye having a laugh? Should be free for people subbed to Rangers TV.

Blue Bells added: "Is the price for all subscribers? surely not that's ridiculous for a friendly."

Godrup vented: "Worst price point I’ve seen for this kind of match. Pretty sure you were showing Helsinki game last year free what’s the difference?"

But others fans insist they are willing to splash the cash to watch their side whoever it is against.

Scott Young wrote: "If you’re seriously going to ask me to pay a tenner to watch us play some pointless friendly against a team that no one has ever heard of at 11 in the morning.

"Then the answer if obviously yes."
