Boxing fans react to Andy Ruiz posing with Anthony Joshua's belts

Andy Ruiz posed with Anthony Joshua's heavyweight belts ahead of the duo's fight.

British superstar Joshua is aiming to hold onto his IBO, WBA, IBF and WBO titles when he takes on Mexican Ruiz at Madison Square Gardens this weekend.

But he relinquished his grasp on his silverware at Thursday's press conference momentarily to allow Ruiz to pose with them.

And fans reckon Joshua was so happy to share the belts because he is so comfortable in his preparations for the fight.

Sam tweeted: "Because he doesn't have a chance, Joshua is happy to let Ruiz pose with his belts."

Another user added: "That's the one and only time Ruiz will ever have a chance lol."

Ruiz was happy to get his chance to get up close and personal with the belts, although vowed to take them back to his homeland.

“I’ve been waiting for this all my life, I’ve been training so hard since my last fight against Alexander Dimitrenko." Ruiz said.

"This came at a perfect time to fight Anthony Joshua. Those belts look really shiny, look really good! I’m ready, I’m ready for June 1, I’m ready to become the first Mexican Heavyweight champion of the world.

"Ready to bring those belts back to Mexico, although they have never been to Mexico, but they will be on June 1.

"I have nothing bad to say about Anthony Joshua, he’s a champion, I’m a fan of him, I respect him, but inside the ring there won’t be any respect, no friends, and no fans.

"I’ll I can say is tune-in on June 1, it’s going to be a hell of fight, I’m going to give it all I got, and we’re going to win this for Mexico!”
