Fans react as Man City's Bernardo Silva assists Cristiano Ronaldo TWICE in Portugal's Nations League win

Cristiano Ronaldo may have stole the show as Portugal booked their place in the final of the Nations League, but fans still recognised the excellent contribution from one of his team-mates - Bernardo Silva.

The former Manchester United man fired home a hat-trick as the host nation set up a showdown with either England or Holland on Sunday night.

But Manchester City's Bernardo Silva was just as impressive. The midfielder has been one of City's best players this season, and the 24-year-old continued his club form for his national side on Thursday night.

Silva created all three of Ronaldo's goals, and despite the headlines all learning towards the 34-year-old, those on social media were quick to share their appreciation for the former Benfica man.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "If Portugal wins the Nation's League should Bernardo Silva (City) be in the conversation just as much as Cristiano Ronaldo (Juve) for the Balon d'Or?"

Before another added: "Bernardo silva is just an international version of Messi when playing for Portugal."
